Our primary objective is to identify our clients planning needs and investment objectives. The Investment Policy Statement (IPS) outlines and prescribes a prudent and acceptable individualized investment philosophy and sets out the investment managment procedures along with the short to long term objectives for you the investor.
Articulating a short-long term investment policy explicitly, and in writing, offers significant assistance to me in protecting your portfolio from ad hoc revisions of a well-reasoned policy based on important personal considerations. Asset Mangement / Comprehensive Financial Planning: Clients have the option of working on a retainer basis or flat percentage based on assets under management. Depending on the clients planning objectives there are three Investment Advisory agreements the client can utilize. Regarding asset management the Advisor and client negotiate a flat annual percentate of assets, for example, 1% annually that is prorated and caluclated on a quarterly basis (.25% quarterly for example) and is billed directly from the clients account. Depending on the portfolio value there are reductions in asset management fee as accounts graduate to higher value bands. The other two options are on a retainer basis or an hourly of $200.00 per hour billed on 15 minute intervals.
