Business Description |
Are your investments working for you? PS&E has expertise in estate, business, investment and retirement planning. We create custom plans for individuals, and specialize in family-owned businesses.
Our philosophy is to try to capture most of the gains in the market while missing most of the losses. We have a solid investment process that takes your goals, objectives, and risk tolerance into consideration. You’ll have a solid plan that’s managed and monitored by a professional financial team.
We work hard to keep our clients’ principal intact, even in this challenging market. To get a better idea of our investing strategies, take a look at my profile on the PS&E Web site and download my whitepaper: Exploring Secular Markets. I explain the concept of secular markets and how diversifying your portfolio with low-correlated assets can make a real difference in your bottom line. |

Michael Palumbos is a partner in the financial planning firm, PS&E LLC Plan to Prosper. His practice focuses on complex, multi-generational family owned businesses with values up to $100 million dollars. Two decades of operational and management experience within both, family-owned enterprises and fortune 500 companies, combined with working in his own families business have provided Michael with the tools necessary to help family business owners successfully juggle their personal, business and generational planning issues.
Michael?s passion for working with family-owned businesses began when he joined PS&E, a firm co-founded by his father, and grew as he listened to the non-financial problems and issues talked about within the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce?s Family Business Group. He found that planning within family businesses is unique and requires a much different approach due to the almost inevitable integration of family systems into the business.
The PS&E team and our partners will custom tailor our education and planning process to fit your families individual needs in such areas as:
? Family Board of Directors & Policy Development ? Strategic Business Growth Planning ? Leadership training ? Generational Business Succession Planning ? Team Building ? Wealth Advisory Services-Low Correlation Asset Allocation ? Retirement Income Strategies for the retiring owner ? Estate Planning and Asset Protection Strategies ? Private Placements, Mergers & Acquisitions* ? Employee Benefits, including Qualified and Non-Qualified plans
Michael is a member of the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP), the National Federation of Independent Businesses (NFIB), and the local chapters of Junior Achievement and the Make-a-Wish Foundation. He is a former member of the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce?s Family Business Group, which he also chaired for several years.
Michael holds the FINRA Series 7 and 63 investment licenses and the New York State Life and Health insurance license. He received a degree in Economics from the University of Rochester. Michael and his wife, Victoria, live in Pittsford, New York and have 7 children.

If any of the recommendations call for financial products such as insurance or investments we can also represent our clients in these marketplaces. As your advocate, we do that work as professionally as we do everything else, making sure that what we bring you is competitive and, most importantly, ensuring that it fits your plan. We would earn a commission or fee for that service, just like anyone else.

Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
What is your approach to financial planning? |
| |
Having a firm understanding of our clients goals and objectives first. We then answer the following questions over a series of meetings: What does retirement look like for us if we both live healthy and happy through age 95? What does your situation look like upon first death? What if the other passes first? Finally, once we are both gone will our estate pass the way we had intended? |
|
| Q. |
Will you be the only person working with me? |
| |
I meet personally with all my clients. If something unforeseen were to happen I work with seven planners and eight support staff so if something were to happen to me you will be taken care of without a hiccup. |
|
| Q. |
What services do you provide? What are your specialties? |
| |
Investment, business, estate and financial independence planning are all areas that I am equaslly trained in. Though, I have a passion for investments. Take a look at my white paper about today's secular bear markets: http://psandeplantoprosper.com/ExploringSecularMarkets.pdf |
|
| Q. |
What are your management fees? |
| |
They vary depending on the expectations and needs of the client. Fees are always discussed prior to engaging any product providers. |
|
| Q. |
What kind of plans do you specialize in? |
| |
Currently the most talked about product is one that provides 401K Toolbox to their employees. Take a look at this video and you'll understand why it is a hot topic... http://www.videobookmark.com/401kToolbox/2_Detail_300.asx |
|
| Q. |
Do you have a minimum requirement for number of employees or total investment value? |
| |
$250,000 minimum plan size |
|
| Q. |
What type of plans do you offer? |
| |
We have agreements with over fifty 401K providers, so we can provide any typer of plan. Our job is to help you tailor your 401K based on your companys needs and specifications and then to shop it in the market place for the best fit. |
|
| Q. |
Do you offer any additional services? |
| |
We help our clients define their needs and the specifics for their 401K and then help them to shop for the right fit. We are not a one size fits all organization and rather than being product specific we are client advocates. |
