Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy? |
| |
When I do a written financial plan for a client, I charge $300. If the plan isn't what the client was expecting, or the client is unhappy with it, I will work with them to come up with an acceptable solution. |
|
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? What is your education background? |
| |
I have been in the financial planning industry for almost 20 years now. In 1995, I began the rigorous process of receiving my CFP designation. In 1997, I completed the necessary coursework to be awarded the CFP designation. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to financial planning? |
| |
My approach to financial planning is that everything I do must be personalized to the client. In our industry, there are too many cookie-cutter approaches to planning that just don't work most of the time. I believe that if the client and I do the work to uncover the specific needs, we will have a much better relationship. |
|
| Q. |
What services do you offer? |
| |
financial planning, investment planning, risk management using various types of insurance. |
|
| Q. |
How many clients do you currently manage? |
|
| Q. |
Will you be the only person working with me? |
| |
Probably, although there are times where it is in the clients best interest to bring in someone who is an expert in a very specific field. |
|
| Q. |
How are you compensated? How will I pay for your services? |
| |
In various ways. I mostly charge a percentage of the investments that a client places with me. I also use a commission structure from time to time, and for financial plans, I use a flat fee approach. For any given client, I will use whichever approach matches them best. |
|
| Q. |
If you are going to manage my account, will you obtain my permission every time you buy or sell something? |
| |
This will be up to the specific client. Most want to give LIMITED trading authority on their acccount, which makes the process go more smoothly. If that doesn't suit you, we can go a different direction. |
|
| Q. |
Do you offer any guaranteed results? |
| |
The only time I will offer guaranteed results is if the investment offers guaranteed results. Usually with insurance products. These guarantees are only as strong as the insurance company, however. The most important thing I can offer my clients is that they know and understand risks and are comfortable taking them. |
|
| Q. |
Have you ever been charged with any breaches? |
| |
No. Any client should go to www.finra.org and check on a financial planners record. Mine is impeccable.
|
|
| Q. |
What carrier(s) do you represent? |
| |
I am an independent financial planner, so I offer hundreds of companies. Nationwide, Metlife, Midland National Life are just a few. |
|
| Q. |
Are there any pre-existing conditions that you can not cover? |
| |
Yes, those would all be covered in the underwriting process. |
|
| Q. |
How long does it take to complete the application and approval process? |
| |
It varies with the clients situation. On average, 2-4 weeks, but often less. |
|
| Q. |
Is there a maximum age that you can insure? |
|
| Q. |
What services do you provide? What are your specialties? |
| |

|
| Q. |
Why should I choose you as my financial advisor? |

|
