Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? What is your education background? |
| |
A broad spectrum of actual experience since 1984 which includes Trust Administration, Estate Planning, Private Banking and Institutional Asset Manager. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to financial planning? |
| |
Goals-based Comprehensive Financial Planning. A good Financial Planner cannot recommend to the left-hand what it should do if they don't know what the right-hand is doing. |
|
| Q. |
What services do you offer? |
| |
Fee based Financial Planning by specific goal, or perform a holistic evaluation of your financial situation. Asset management that is promarily fee-based. |
|
| Q. |
How are you compensated? How will I pay for your services? |
| |
Financial Plans are paid by the client for a pre-agreed upon rate. Or, if there are assets to manage the Comprehensive Financial Plan is a part of the service. Those fees are typically paid by the assets themselves. |
|
| Q. |
How much risk should I be willing to take? |
| |
A client's risk is determined by the needed rate of return in order to achieve the specific goal. If the amount of risk determined to meet the goal is too high, then a contingent plan must be created to lower the goal. |
|
| Q. |
What services do you provide? What are your specialties? |
| |
Investment Management which utilizes the appropriate asset mix or investment vehicle that optimizes return. The use of Index Funds or ETFs are most appropriate when the account is taxable in order to minimize the tax consequences. Use active managers in Mutual Funds in Retirement Accounts when taxes are not a consideration. |
|
| Q. |
What financial institution(s) do you represent? |
| |
There are no financial institutions that I am affiliated with, nor is there any proprietary product that I am mandated to sell. My goal is to obtain a lifelong relationship with my clients and their children. |
|
| Q. |
How do you charge for your services? |
| |
Assets are managed for clients on a tiered fee-schedule which means that as the investment relationship grows there are breakpoints which provide discounts to the client. |
|
| Q. |
Do you provide a free initial consultation? |
| |
First time meetings are always a free consultation. |
|
| Q. |
Why should I choose you as my financial advisor? |
| |
My multi-faceted expertise which includes land resource management, charitable planning, estate planning, asset management can benefit any family with the most complex planning needs. My clients have included high net-worth families, business owners, major corporations and large institutional foundations. My loyalty is to you, not a
specific product or provider. |
|
| Q. |
What are your management fees? |
| |
My management fees are based on a percentage of the plan's assets, or a combination of the plan's annual deposits and a smaller portion for existing assets in the plan. |
|
| Q. |
What kind of plans do you specialize in? |
| |
Since my work with Retirement Plans goes back to 1984, I can assist in the design and management of all 401(k)s, Cash-balanced Plans, Defined Benefit Plans, and Non-Qualified Deferred Compensation Plans. |
|
| Q. |
Do you offer any additional services? |

| |
Analysis of the current and future income needs from the Rollover to determine the most tax advantaged approach for optimizing the benefits for now, and if there are legacy intentions to consider. |
