Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? What is your education background? |
| |
I have a law degree from Fordham Law school. I'm also an accredited asset management specialist AAMS. This gives me a unique perspective for financial planning while advising my clients. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to financial planning? |
| |
We believe that less is more. Many planners will want to justify themselves with elaborate and lengthy financial plans. Our approach is a simple one: we analyze where client is, where they want to go, and develop a plan on how to get there. |
|
| Q. |
How many clients do you currently manage? |
| |
We have about 20 families in our advisory platforms. This allows us to spend time servicing the accounts with the level of service that exceeds expectations. |
|
| Q. |
Will you be the only person working with me? |
| |
My son works with me in the business. Everything we do, we do as a team. We believe having two perspectives on the same topic is extremely beneficial to our clients. |
|
| Q. |
How are you compensated? How will I pay for your services? |
| |
In our advisory relationships we are compensated with an annual fee. This fee varies based on the size of the account managed. This advisory fee comes out of the assets every quarter or if you prefer you can write a check for the fee. |
|
| Q. |
If you are going to manage my account, will you obtain my permission every time you buy or sell something? |
| |
In our advisory relationships we do not contact you every time we buy or sell a mutual fund. However when it comes to individual securities, such as stocks, bonds, ETF's, and UIT's, you will be contacted before any trade is made. |
|
| Q. |
Do you offer any guaranteed results? |
| |
It would be disingenuous to guarantee any results. |
|
| Q. |
How much risk should I be willing to take? |
| |
Before becoming a client you will receive a detailed questionnaire. Based on your score and conversations that we have, we will know exactly how to construct your portfolio. Before your money is actually invested we will go over exactly how much risk you're going to assume in your portfolio. Keep in mind that your attitude towards risk can and usually does change over time. |
|
| Q. |
Have you ever been charged with any breaches? |
|
| Q. |
What financial institution(s) do you represent? |
| |
Our home office is LPL Financial. They are the biggest independent broker dealer in the United States. |
|
| Q. |
How do you charge for your services? |
| |
Fee-based or Commission based or Hourly fee agreements |
|
| Q. |
Do you provide a free initial consultation? |
| |
Yes, face-to-face is preferred, but we will make exceptions because we understand time constraints. |
|
| Q. |
Why should I choose you as my financial advisor? |
| |
We provide independent unbiased investment advice. I have no proprietary investments to offer, nor do I received any special compensation for specific investments. I have lived in Denville since 1971. I served in the Marines, and I'm active in my parish. The only way to find out if we’re a good fit for each other is a face-to-face appointment. I have built my business on this principle. |
|
| Q. |
What kind of plans do you specialize in? |
| |
Small-business 401(k) plans. We also offer an extremely low-cost small-business payroll solution |
|
| Q. |
Do you have a minimum requirement for number of employees or total investment value? |
|
| Q. |
What type of plans do you offer? |
| |
401(k), Deferred and Compensation |
|
| Q. |
Do you offer any additional services? |
| |
No cost 401(k) plan reviews. We do these to ensure that our business clients are ERISA compliant. |
|
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? |
| |
We are extremely familiar with the businesses in the tri-state area. Most likely we've done a rollover with your company already. We believe we have this process streamlined, which makes it much less stressful for our clients. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to 401 K plan rollovers? |
| |
Before performing any rollover, we want to make sure that it's appropriate. Once we determine a rollover is appropriate, we will make recommendations as to how the assets will be allocated and for what timeframe. |
|
| Q. |
How long does the process of rolling over a 401K plan usually take? |
| |
Usually about 30 minutes start to finish. |
