Dealing with life events and specifically tragedy is never easy and it is an extremely difficult conversation to have with anyone that has gone through it. Ron lost 17 people in 7 years from 2013 2020. This included his sister in 2014 and son in 2016. Again, it is never easy to help or talk to people about their situations, let alone deal with more than one yourself in a short period of time. So, when he says he has been there done, that, he can truly say that he has dealt with hardship and tragedy.
Ron created the business motto for Atlas, We are Crusaders Against Wall Street Greed. While many advisors do right by their clients, he has seen and heard a lot of legal, but in his opinion, not so ethical way the advisory business allows hidden fees to be taken from clients. Many advisors, especially those that are both an Investment Advisor/Broker and are not transparent about how total fees work. Meaning, some advisors charge a quarterly management fee, but they and/or their Broker/Dealer gets a backend trailer commission on many Mutual Funds and the Advisor may get a portion of that too. Also, some Mutual Fund companies may provide an additional bonus at the end of the year for the total assets they have with that Investment House. Is this legal, yes. But is it right? Why dont Clients and Investors know more about this? Again, transparency is paramount to a successful long-term relationship. Also, those additional fees reduce and degrade long-term portfolio performance.
Understanding your goals, objectives and risk tolerance are the tenets of basic portfolio construction. Ron is a very positive person, especially about the future, but he is a self-proclaim Cockeyed Optimist when it comes to economic and market cycles and properly investing in and around them. He provides you with facts and data that he consumes from hours of research weekly in order to make sure his clientele are on the right path. Prospective clients may not be used to an Advisor giving them the truth, as raw and presentably harsh at times, but nothing is being glossed over just to get someones business. Current clientele stay long-term because they know they are going to receive the information they need unfiltered and unvarnished.

Ron Lang grew up in the business. His father Allen started in the brokerage side of the business in the late 1960s. While in high school over three summer vacations Ron worked on the Options floor of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. It was an unbelievable experience and an environment that would get you excited about being in any part of the investment world. When Ron got older, Allen tried to recruit and convince him to get into the business. He loved the technology sector, worked and then owned a software and business consulting business designing CRM software for businesses. He never lost his passion for the investment business and even though he was helping people with financial planning, the financial and housing crisis in 2008 got him interested in getting involved in finance and investments. Many of his friends' portfolios were set up where their risk tolerance and portfolio allocation were not in-line with their goals, objectives and timeline. They kept asking him to manage their investments. Without a Securities License, that could not happen. In 2011, Ron started Atlas Wealth Management, LLC, and began to manage portfolios and continue financial planning for those friends and referrals then continued to grow the business. From there the business continued to grow and began to help more business owners and help those that needed Estate Planning. Atlas and Ron works with many CPA's and Attorney's to make sure their clients are taken care of the way we know they should be for the long-term. Lastly, Ron prides himself and the organization on Communication. People change Advisors for several reasons. One of the top reasons is communication and either receiving none, very little and when they have a question, the response time back to them is unacceptable. Ron and his team have been accused of being over communicators. We would rather be accused of being that, than getting feedback we never hear from that guy. |
