401K Rollovers

For clients aged 59 1/2 and above, we can assist them in moving assets from their 401k plans to self-directed IRA's. For clients leaving their company, we can asset them in rolling 401k assets into their own IRA, or often, setting up their own replacement 401k. For clients under age 59 1/2 with large 401k balances, we can assist them in a special strategy that allows for tax-free transfers out to a spousal IRA.

For those with cash balances above $500,000, we have special cash management programs earning the highest rates - with FDIC protection up to $2,500,000 per person.

Retirement Planning

As a Retirement Income Certified Professional®, I have been trained in the science of decumulation planning which is just as important as helping clients accumulate assets. The four most dangerous years of retirement are the two years just prior and two years just following retirement. Our Critical Actions Roadmap helps clients stress test their portfolios to ensure they stand up over time.

Annuities

We have access to a robust platform of annuities through a producer group in which we are a member. We do not frequently recommend annuities because of limitations on their growth potential and lack of liquidity for the assets. There are, however, times when annuities can be an important addition to a diversified financial plan.

Estate Planning & Trusts

I am an Accredited Estate Planner®, and we also have our own in-house attorney. We review estate and business succession documents routinely. We do not draft documents but look for mistakes and advise how to utilize trusts in the best states for asset protection and elimination or reduction of estate taxes. We offer a fee-based analysis to review and assess current estate documents, investments, insurance, retirement, legacy, and philanthropic planning and then provide a roadmap to assist clients in reaching their goals.

Wealth Management

Only 1% of financial advisors are an independent Registered Investment Advisor as we are. Most are affiliated with a Broker-Dealer which limits their ability to provide financial advice across an entire spectrum of investment options. We have no limitations and can provide expertise and feedback on whatever investments you may be considering or have presently in your portfolio.

Risk Management

As a Chartered Life Underwriter® and Chartered Financial Consultant®, I am highly trained in the aspects of insurance risk management. And, as an Accredited Estate Planner®, we can help assess the degree to which your assets are at risk, and how to mitigate that risk from unknown, unexpected creditors.

Insurance Planning

I am a Chartered Life Underwriter®. As such, I am intimately acquainted with the use of modern products that access the equity markets to produce returns that are not taxable to the client. We also have significant relationships with banks that are willing to lend funds into the millions of dollars for the purchase of life insurance to provide estate liquidity - funding for buy-sell agreements - and/or nontaxable income streams from the insurance products. Additionally, we assist clients in the purchase of specialized disability insurance and long-term care insurance programs.

Tax Advice and Services

With a master's in financial services, and a sub-specialty in taxation, we are routinely called upon to provide innovative strategies to reduce, defer and even eliminate taxes upon the sale of appreciated assets such as a business, stock/bond/mutual fund portfolios, real estate, and other such assets. Through our Critical Actions Roadmap, we also identify underperforming assets that are creating tax issues for clients. Also, we find ways to reduce income taxes both Federally and State specific that frequently CPA's either miss or are not aware of.
