What does retirement mean to you? Perhaps it means enjoying a slower pace of life or more personal freedom. Maybe it's your time to pursue other interests, focus on family, travel, or give back to your community. However you define it, retirement is something you may have been looking forward to for a long time. Sometimes, though, concerns rise up, too. Look to OMC Financial Services. For over 30 years we have been working with people just like you to address their specific retirement concerns such as what happens when my paycheck stops or can my money last throughout retirement? We create strategies and portfolios designed to reach their goals, and avoid costly financial mistakes along the way.
|Estate Planning & Trusts
Are you prepared? We all know people who have passed away and left their loved ones in a difficult situation. Perhaps you have experienced this personally. Many people don't think of estate planning as a central part of their financial planning. Estate planning is about peace of mind. Without proper estate planning, not only can you give up control over how your estate is distributed you may also lose a significant amount of your estate to taxes, nursing home expenses or long-term care costs. Comprehensive estate planning can ensure that you are there for those you care for, even when you can't be.
|Investment Advice & Management
What is important to you? We all have our own reasons for investing. You may want to increase the value of your portfolio, draw income from your nest egg, or use your funds to help others. Perhaps you have come into an inheritance or you were the beneficiary of a life insurance policy, annuity, or a retirement plan or IRA and you aren?t exactly sure what to do. OMC Financial Services is here to help you with your investments - no matter what the reason. With over 30 years of investment management experience, we understand the special challenges you face and we will work with you toward attaining what is most important to you.
What are your qualifications? What is your education background?
Registered Investment Advisors* are held to strict standards and have a fiduciary duty to act in their clients best interests. An independent fee-only advisor is able to avoid conflicts of interest since the advisor is compensated by the client. We work only for you, and that means your success is our success. (*Registration does not imply a certain level of skill or training.)
How are you compensated? How will I pay for your services?
OMC is a fee-only practice. Fees are paid by the client, billed in arrears at the end of each quarter and automatically withdrawn from the account. Higher asset levels qualify for fee break-points and in those cases where clients have multiple accounts with us we aggregate them to determine the appropriate breakpoint (see our website).
If you are going to manage my account, will you obtain my permission every time you buy or sell something?
Generally, OMC manages with discretion meaning we can place trades without first contacting the client. Discretion allows us to make a single transaction for multiple clients without having to contact each client beforehand. Although all accounts are discretionary, your account is registered in your individual name and all trade confirmations and statements are sent directly to you (see website).
How many clients do you currently manage?
We interpret this question as, "How do I know you will pay attention to me?" This concern is generally based on prior experience where people felt their investments were not receiving the attention they deserved. OMC has implemented a process that directly addresses this concern for the benefit of all of our clients, regardless of portfolio size or number we serve (see our website).
Will you be the only person working with me?
At OMC, we strongly believe in the team approach. Cynthia Scott and I personally work with each and every one of our clients, while Brenda and Sue are also directly involved ensuring our clients' administrative matters are handled as smoothly and efficiently as possible. Each member of the team brings unique qualifications to the benefit of our clients' individual needs (see our website).
