Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy? |
| |
Yes, we have a 100% client satisfaction guarantee. |
|
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? What is your education background? |
| |
I have a degree in honors Economics from the University of Washington, as well as five additional years of study in finance (taxes, estate planning, investment analysis, et al) in obtaining the following designations: CFP(tm), ChFC, CLU, AAMS, BFA. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to financial planning? |
| |
I help our clients with goal and scenario based planning. I ask as many questions as appropriate to truly get to know our clients and their financial and life objectives. I then collaborate with their legal and tax advisors to help them map out scenarios that will help them achieve their goals in the most financially efficient way possible. |
|
| Q. |
What services do you offer? |
| |
Comprehensive financial planning and asset management. |
|
| Q. |
How many clients do you currently manage? |
|
| Q. |
Will you be the only person working with me? |
| |
I am the point person who clients interact and plan with on a regular basis. I do have staff and analysts that process trades as well as administrative tasks that clients also interact with. |
|
| Q. |
How are you compensated? How will I pay for your services? |
| |
I am independent, so can operate in whichever way an individual client prefers. While we can be either fee based or commission based, most clients far prefer fee based arrangements. Compared to the traditional stock broker arrangement, fee based relationships tend to be far more transparent and often lower cost. |
|
| Q. |
Have you ever been charged with any breaches? |
| |
No. Our client satisfaction surveys last year resulted in over 80% perfect scores. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to 401 K plan rollovers? |
| |
I ask questions to help clients best evaluate their options. I always discuss Stretch IRA's as an option for rollovers, as they help clients avoid mandatory full income taxation of their retirement plans at death; they allow their heirs to "stretch" their retirement plan over their lifetime versus having to liquidate it and pay income tax on the entire amount. |
|
| Q. |
How long does the process of rolling over a 401K plan usually take? |
|
| Q. |
What financial institutions do you represent? |
| |
We are independent, so thousands. |
|
| Q. |
What are your fees for this service? |
| |
There are no fees for the process of rolling over a 401k. There can be fees if clients seek other, comprehensive financial advice and planning. |
|
| Q. |
Why should I roll over my 401K plan to your firm? |
| |
We are independent. So, rather than most financial advisors who work for a firm whose products they need to sell, we have an open environment for our clients. Our clients can invest in any of tens of thousands of investments. This results in a far more objective relationship between a client and their advisor. |
|
| Q. |
Do you provide a free initial consultation? |
| |
Yes. Either by phone or in person. |
