Business Description |
Bills Asset Management was formed in 1992 with the primary goal of safety of principal. Making money during good times is important, but it is equally important to protect the assets during bad times. Our trading rules are designed to help us avoid high-risk periods and only invest when we have a positive expectancy of making money. We do not attempt to trade on short-term fluctuations, but we do expect to miss most of every major down move, and capture most of every major up move in the markets. This type of active management allows Bills Asset Management clients to achieve a reasonable rate of return on their money without being subjected to excessive risk.
We pride ourselves on our level of service and our commitment to our clients and their financial future. We hope to earn your trust. |

Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy? |
| |
We refund a pro-rata portion of fees unearned should the account be terminated. |
|
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? What is your education background? |
| |
We provide no financial planning services. Though we are licensed as a CFP, we have chosen not to offer this service. We do, however, provide general financial planning services as a part of asset management. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to financial planning? |
|
| Q. |
What services do you offer? |
|
| Q. |
How many clients do you currently manage? |
|
| Q. |
Will you be the only person working with me? |
|
| Q. |
How are you compensated? How will I pay for your services? |
|
| Q. |
If you are going to manage my account, will you obtain my permission every time you buy or sell something? |
| |
We offer discretionary asset management. Accordingly, when you hire us to manage your investments we manage your assets without your day to day input. We are always available to discuss our strategies. You are notified by the account custodian everytime we make a change to your account portfolio. |
|
| Q. |
Do you offer any guaranteed results? |
|
| Q. |
How much risk should I be willing to take? |
| |
The stock market is inherently risky. We strive to limit market risk by actively managing your account. Our stated goal is to capture 80% of the gains in an up-trending market and avoid 80% of the losses in a down-trending market. |
|
| Q. |
Have you ever been charged with any breaches? |
|
| Q. |
What services do you provide? What are your specialties? |
| |
We have made a strategic decision to focus on one thing and do it well. Accordingly, we only provide asset management services. However, being licensed as a Certified Financial Planner and Certified Public Accountant allows us to provide our asset management services considering your unique financial situation. |
|
| Q. |
What is your experience? How many clients do you currently manage? |
| |
Our firm was formed in 1992 and collectively our two principals have over 25 years of experience. We currently manage approximately $70 million in client assets, representing over 200 clients in over 10 states. |
|
| Q. |
What financial institution(s) do you represent? |
| |
Our client accounts are typically held at Fidelity Investments where we have access to over 6,000 no-load mutual funds. |
|
| Q. |
How do you charge for your services? |
| |
We are a fee only advisor. Our fees are calculated as a percent of the amount of assets under our management. Since we are not compensated by commissions, we have no incentive to "churn" your account with unnecessary trades. |
|
| Q. |
Do you provide a free initial consultation? |
| |
We would be happy to meet with you to discuss your individual financial situation with absolutely no obligation and with no cost to you. |
|
| Q. |
Why should I choose you as my financial advisor? |
| |
Our strategies have enabled our clients to successfully navigate the most difficult of market conditions. Avoiding bad market conditions and preserving capital enables our clients to build wealth when market conditions improve rather than recovering losses. |
|
| Q. |
What are your management fees? |
| |
We manage individual 401k accounts for a fixed fee of 1% of the account net assets. |
|
| Q. |
What kind of plans do you specialize in? |
| |
We manage any and all company 401k plans as long as the plan provides a wide enough selection of funds for us to provide value. |
|
| Q. |
Do you have a minimum requirement for number of employees or total investment value? |
| |
Minimum total investment value managed is $100,000. |
|
| Q. |
What type of plans do you offer? |
|
| Q. |
Do you offer any additional services? |
| |
We have chosen to specialize in investment management and, accordingly, do not offer additional services. |
|
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? |
| |
We manage 401k rollovers the same way as our other managed assets. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to 401 K plan rollovers? |
| |
Rolling over a 401k is a relatively simple process and we will be happy to assist you. |
|
| Q. |
How long does the process of rolling over a 401K plan usually take? |
| |
A rollover typically takes seven to ten days. |
|
| Q. |
What financial institutions do you represent? |
| |
Fidelity Investments and TD Ameritrade |
|
| Q. |
How many years of experience do you have? |
|
| Q. |
What are your fees for this service? |
| |
Our fees for managing a 401k rollover are the same as our other managed assets. Our fees are 2% of the net assets managed for the first $500,000 in assets. Fees are reduced for assets in excess of $500,000. |
|
| Q. |
How many 401K rollover clients do you currently manage? |
|
| Q. |
Why should I roll over my 401K plan to your firm? |
| |
Our active management style enables us to achieve market like returns in up years while avoiding the large majority of major market declines. Avoiding declines will significantly enhance your long-term returns. |
|
| Q. |
Do you provide a free initial consultation? |
| |
We would welcome the opportunity to discuss our services with you and provide our thoughts on your current situation without cost to you. |
