Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
Do you have a customer satisfaction or refund policy? |
| |
We absolutely do have a policy of refunding fees or a pro-rata amount of the fee if the clients are not satisfied. Our contracts are renewed annually. |
|
| Q. |
What are your qualifications? What is your education background? |
| |
Because we have been in this business for several decades, we have a loyal and unique business proposition. The professionals are Certified Financial PlannerTM practitioners and adhere to the fiduciary principals of offering fee-only planning and investment advice. Please see our website for particulars on the professionals and our educational backgrounds. |
|
| Q. |
What is your approach to financial planning? |
| |
We practice financial life planning, believing the non-monetary goals of a person and family are as important if not more so than the monetary goals. We do not review financial data until the third meeting after we have reviewed our respective objectives and really feel we can make a difference to achieving the client(s)'s goals. |
|
| Q. |
What services do you offer? |
| |
Financial life planning, investment advising, retirement planning, estate planning |
|
| Q. |
How many clients do you currently manage? |
|
| Q. |
Will you be the only person working with me? |
| |
No. We take a team approach to the planning engagement. All the office staff will at some time interact with each client so that all of us are capable of having a conversation with a client at any time. |
|
| Q. |
How are you compensated? How will I pay for your services? |
| |
As fee only planners, we charge a fee based on a client's income and net worth for the first year, then as a percentage of income for each subsequent year. One half of the fee is due at the time the clients signs the contract and the remainder is due at the time the plan is presented. We also charge a separate asset management fee for assets we manage on a sliding scale starting at 1%. |
|
| Q. |
If you are going to manage my account, will you obtain my permission every time you buy or sell something? |
| |
Yes, we have no discretionary authority. Our investment partners, however, do have that authority but they must adhere to the investment policy statement guidelines in any trades they make. |
|
| Q. |
Do you offer any guaranteed results? |
|
| Q. |
How much risk should I be willing to take? |
| |
Depends on your answers to the Risk Profile. You set the parameters of risk, not us. |
|
