Business Description |
RTJ Financial Management is a fee-only financial planning firm. Established in 2000, we service all of Southern California. We believe in taking a holistic approach to our clients financial picture.
For individuals our process begins with the question "What's important about money to you?" Once we've identified what's really important about money to YOU, we can better guide you over time. After we understand the importance of money, we guide you through the process of establishing your financial goals with specific dates and dollar amounts. From that, we develop you unique plan to achieve your goals.
Our philosophy of portfolio management is one of asset allocation with regular rebalancing. If you're looking for active trading, we're not for you.
For our 401(k) clients, we pride ourselves on outservicing the competition, with quarterly employees meetings and flexible plans to meet your needs. |

|
| Q. |
What is your approach to 401 K plan rollovers? |
| |
Our approach is to make the transition as smooth as possible while keeping the costs to the client at a minimum. We also understand that there are times when keeping money in the old plan makes sense so our job, as a fiduciary, is to do what's best for the client, not our bottom line. |
|
| Q. |
How long does the process of rolling over a 401K plan usually take? |
| |
The process depends on how quickly your plan sponsor reacts. Generally speaking, it takes less than 30 days. |
|
| Q. |
What financial institutions do you represent? |
| |
We are independent so do not exclusively represent any single institution. We do, however, use Fidelity as for our clearing and custody. |
|
| Q. |
How many years of experience do you have? |
| |
17 years in financial services, 8 years in 401(k) rollovers. |
|
| Q. |
What are your fees for this service? |
| |
If we will be managing the portfolio, there is no charge to transact the rollover. If you are merely asking us to move the money into an IRA, there is a fee based on the expected amount of time. |
|
| Q. |
How many 401K rollover clients do you currently manage? |
| |
We currently manage about 20 rollover clients. |
|
| Q. |
Why should I roll over my 401K plan to your firm? |
| |
We are a boutique firm that believes in working with a limited number of quality clients. By rolling over your 401(k) you will not have the flexibility to invest your funds more effectively and efficiently. In addition, if we manage the money, we will monitor your portfolio to ensure your asset allocation stays in balance, increasing your return and reducing your volatility. |
