Business Description |
Have you lost money recently on the stock market or in real estate? You aren't alone. Thousands of Chicago area individuals and business owners just like you, are now feeling the pain of an economy and market environment that is making opportunity harder and harder to find. Consistently, large Wall Street brokers and bankers, like Merryll Lynch and Lehman-Brothers, have over-promised and under-delivered.
That being said, "Where do you turn?”
My name is Eddie Patel and my firm Eddie Patel, Inc. is a registered investment advisor in the State of Illinois. I work with individuals, families, charities, and small business to develop financial plans and investment solutions that address specific future income needs.
I want an opportunity to show you, that the advice of large banks and brokers is usually more beneficial to them, than it is to you, and why choosing me, will make a tremendous positive difference in both your portfolio size and your peace of mind.
In our initial meetings together, I will take the time to learn who you are, what your personal tolerance for risk is, and dispel any myths you might have about the financial marketplace.
I will then take time to educate you on the wide array of financial products that are available to address your needs, including their specific costs, pros, and pitfalls. I am not going to waste time touting my own expertise, like my competitors love to do. I am just going to get things done. |

Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
| Q. |
Will you be the only person working with me? |
| |
For the most part, yes. You may receive update or service calls from my assistant on purely administrative or promotional/marketing matters from time to time, but your financial plans will exclusively be designed by me. |
|
| Q. |
How are you compensated? How will I pay for your services? |
| |
This answer depends on what specifically you choose to do with me. For most new clients, a quarterly percentage fee will be deducted from your brokerage accounts that I am managing. If you choose to add an insurance platform to your financial plan, I will receive commissions on insurance products only. |
|
| Q. |
If you are going to manage my account, will you obtain my permission every time you buy or sell something? |
| |
I will not obtain your permission each and every time I buy or sell. At the outset of our relationship, I will take a great deal of time assessing your personal tolerance for risk and we will take time to outline major life events that will require your funds to be withdrawn. Subsequently, my management will be based on the results of that analysis. |
|
| Q. |
Do you offer any guaranteed results? |
| |
I do not guarantee any results. No one can guarantee any results when investing in stocks, mutual funds, or bonds. I can certainly assist you with finding specific products that offer guarantees, however. |
|
| Q. |
How much risk should I be willing to take? |
| |
The risk you should take, should be a function of both your immediate and future needs for income, as well as your overall asset base. I am not going to deny that there is a large psychological element to this as well, but as I stated earlier, I will take a great deal of time to get to know you, your tendencies, and your specific income needs before recommending any particular risk profile. |
|
| Q. |
Have you ever been charged with any breaches? |
|
| Q. |
What carrier(s) do you represent? |
| |
Allianz, Aviva, ING, Sun Life, American Equity, Equitrust, Old Mutual, Lincoln Financial Group |
|
| Q. |
Are there any pre-existing conditions that you can not cover? |
| |
Best way to find out, is to submit an application. There are too many to know off hand. |
|
| Q. |
How long does it take to complete the application and approval process? |
| |
Largely, this will depend on the size and details of the deal. Typically, most annuity and life insurance cases will close between 4-6 weeks. Health insurance cases are largely complete in less time than that. |
|
| Q. |
Is there a maximum age that you can insure? |
| |
This will be case and carrier specific. |
|
| Q. |
What are your management fees? |
| |
Usually, if I am managing your portfolio directly, I will charge you 1.00%, billed quarterly, on the total volume of assets you have under my management. If I choose a third party investment manager there will likely be an additional percentage, usually in the neighborhood of .70%. You will be responsible for any trading or transaction costs in your account as well. |
