Hi, I'm Matthew Kelley. I'm a New Yorker by birth, and I spent most of my youth hiking the Adirondack mountains and playing lacrosse. My parents pushed me to work at a young age, and I learned that I didn't like working for others. So, at 14, I started my own landscaping business. My grandfather introduced me to the financial markets at this time, and I began to buy stocks with my profits. This led me to seek an internship with one of the nation's first financial planning firms through my college years. After college, I moved to Colorado to compete in snowboarding. I didn't do as well as I envisioned, so I decided that maybe snowboarding was not my competitive calling and began to look for what else interested me. This led me back to financial planning. In 2004, I asked my wife if I could leave my well-paying job and start my own financial planning company while on our honeymoon. She trusted me those many years ago, and I never looked back. Today, we've built an enduring and sustainable practice centered around helping our clients use their money to achieve their life's purpose for career, family, individual pursuits, retirement, and legacy. Life's not a rehearsal, and we keep this at the forefront of our advice. Locally, I serve my community by coaching high school lacrosse and I've been doing this since 1999. I love planting leadership seeds to help our future generations to treat others with love and respect. When I'm not working or enjoying my beautiful family, you will most likely find me doing one of the following: At Gold Medal Waters, we are planners who proudly serve physicians and others with high current income, high earnings potential, or substantial assets. We guide our clients to achieve meaningful outcomes and help them build a better life, both now and in the future. Our mission is pretty straightforward - we want to make sure that after each conversation, you feel an increase in control and a decrease in anxiety. We believe that our client's future happiness depends on the work we do today. That proper financial planning and systematized investment management decreases negative stress and increases well-being, leading to better outcomes. That's why we're dedicated to pairing our clients with real people who deliver advice with warmth, understanding and privacy. Gold Medal Waters, Inc. (GMW) is a fee-only financial advisory firm that serves individuals, families, foundations and company retirement plans such as 401(k)s and 403(b)s. We started out as a small independent firm in Boulder and recognize that the growth and success we are experiencing is a direct result of maintaining our core values and our focus on serving physicians. GMW is a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) located in the State of Colorado providing investment advisory services and related services for clients nationally. As of today, we mainly operate throughout Colorado and Illinois. With the aid of teleconferencing, our financial advisors and CFP®s increasingly work with clients all over the United States. We maintain all applicable registration and licenses as mandated by the various states in which GMW conducts business, as applicable. GMW renders individualized responses to persons in a particular state only after complying with all regulatory requirements, or pursuant to an applicable state exemption or exclusion.
