Tom grew up just a few miles outside of Harlan, Indiana. He attended Woodlan High School and graduated in 2001. After high school, Tom then attended Indiana University in Fort Wayne. In 2006, Tom received a double bachelors degree in Accounting and Finance, and a minor in Mathematics. After graduation, Tom began his career as a financial advisor. On a personal level, Tom met his beautiful wife while in school, during the spring of 2006. They were married in the summer of 2008, and now reside in Fort Wayne, where they also attend Calvary Baptist Church. Tom and Megan have 2 daughters and a son. In his rare free time, Tom enjoys growing giant pumpkins and spending time with his family. Tom's pumpkin achievements culminated in 2002 with a 1097.5 pound pumpkin which at the time was the all-time 11th heaviest officially weight pumpkin in the world.
