Neal began his career in 2007 working in Bend during the financial crisis and the great recession for Northwestern Mutual, a Life Insurance company. This experience helped refine his business as well as his personal financial planning. In 2012 Neal began working for Wells Fargo Advisors where he worked helping clients invest and plan. His experience at Wells Fargo Advisors amalgamized his investment philosophy as well as his conviction in the value of planning over product. In April of 2017, Neal joined Cascade Financial Strategies, an independent RIA, where his practice blossomed into what it is today. Neal and his wife Lindsey, married since 2006, reside in Bend Oregon where he and his four kids (Lydia, Thomas, Hazel, and Miles) 20 chickens, 2 rabbits, 2 cats, 1 dog, a goose, 10 ducks, and a fish share life together. When he isn't working or at home he can be found running and biking the local trails and training for triathlons at the pool. Who he is can be reflected in the people in his life he is most thankful for: His wife and kids: I'm not sure where you end, and I begin. His mom and dad, Janet and Thomas Richards: I am eternally grateful for you both. Working associate, John Aspell: I owe you my career& thanks for taking a chance on me. Authors Rene Girard, RC Sproul, Dave Ramsey, Nick Murray, Michael Kitces: These people have given me the lens through which I see the world.

Greg has been assisting investors since 1993, developing comprehensive wealth management plans for clients designed to minimize risk and help them reach their goals. Prior to joining Mariner Wealth Advisors, he was a financial advisor and a managing principal for Cascadia Wealth Management. Greg is a member of the Financial Planning Association. He is also a registered representative with MSEC Personal Interests Greg enjoys biking, pickleball and racquetball. He participates in an annual food drive for the Oregon Food Bank.
Mariner Wealth Advisors is different than other wealth management firms in a variety of ways. One way in which were different is our business model. Our advisors are asked to do one thing, to provide clients wealth advice. Our advisors are not out soliciting new clients. Their objective is to retain the clients they currently have and develop an intimate relationship with them. In order to create that intimate relationship, we take a variety of responsibilities that advisors are traditionally charged with and remove them and simply have them focus on working with their clients, as well as limiting the amount of clients that they can serve. As a firm, we have a separate team of professionals that develops new business and it is their goal to understand who those people are and identify the right advisor they should be with.
