Brad lives near Myrtle Beach, SC with his wife of 19 years,
Carla. We asked him to tell us a little about himself.
I graduated from Clemson University in 1995 and quickly attained
my Series 6 and Series 63 Securities License as well as attended
The American College to become certified by the LUTC in "Advanced
Estate Planning". I recently graduated from Duke University's CFP (Certified
Financial Planner) program and will be sitting for the federal CFP board exam soon.
Many advisers are compensated by commissions. This could
possibly influence the advice that they provide. I wanted to
eliminate this influence. Therefore, I hold a Series 65
Securities License and I am bound to a "Fiduciary" duty as
opposed to a "Suitability" duty. This is a very important
I understand that my clients are in different stages of their
lives. They may be purchasing their first home, financing a
child?s college education, planning for retirement, or protecting
and growing their savings while in retirement. I believe
that a financial plan must reflect their personal situation.
Financial Planning for Individuals
We enjoy meeting with individuals and helping them with common issues such as retirement income planning including when to take Social Security Benefits and IRA Distributions. Another common question that we address is how to efficiently transfer wealth from one generation to another without giving up control.
Financial Planning for Businesses
We help business owners take advantage of strategies that address common problems such as business continuation and key man protection. A comprehensive approach helps to ensure that important details do not go undetected.
The strategy of buy and hold may no longer be the most effective method of obtaining compound returns. In the first decade of the 21st century, investors endured significant losses following the attacks on 9/11 then a slow rebound only to suffer a financial meltdown in 2008. Not only did common investors not enjoy compound returns, they are only recently breaking even. We use tactically managed models to bring a more proactive approach to portfolio management and significantly reduce the risk of excessive losses.
